Wedding Venue at Burlescombe in Devon

Burelescombe is a Devon village with 900 inhabitants, about five miles south west of Wellington. It is near the Lakeview Manor wedding venue at Dunkeswell.

The village used to be made up of four hamlets called Appledore, Westleigh, Tithing and Ayshford.

When the Grand Union Canal was built in 1810, several attractive bridges were built at Burlescombe. There was abundant high quality limestone found in local quarries, and this was shipped all over the United Kingdom by the canal.

Burlescombe railway station opened in 1867, and is now part of Tiverton Parkway railway.

The parish church is dedicated to St Mary, and was built by Henry II, and contains an ancient rood screen.

Couples wishing to get married who live in Burlescombe will find that Lakeview Manor is ideally closely located for their civil wedding, and/or wedding reception. The forty five acres of beautiful Devon parkland make the most perfect wedding venue in the area.
